Here are some of the questions people have asked about Foundations21. If your question isn't answered here, please contact us.
Do I need a broadband Internet connection?
Ideally, yes. Foundations21 will work over a dial-up connection but it will be very slow and this will probably become quite frustrating to you.
What are the system requirements for using Foundations21?
Most people will probably have a computer with sufficient specification to use Foundations21. The list below is a minimum set of requirements:
Who is behind Foundations21?
Foundations21 is produced and published by BRF, a leading Christian charity working to resource people in the areas of discipleship, prayer and spirituality, and understanding the Bible.
Why is it free?
What if I have a technical problem with the website?
Please contact us, providing details of the fault, and we will respond as quickly as possible. We are aiming to respond within 48 hours (during the working week) and quicker if we can.
How long will it take to complete Foundations21?
Foundations21 offers an approach to exploring discipleship as lifelong Christian learning, rather than as another course to be completed, so the simple answer is as long as you want! Once you get started with Foundations21 you'll be able to get a sense of how much time you're likely to want to spend on each section. You can decide to go as quickly or as slowly as you want. There is nothing to compel you to keep to any particular timetable. However, if you're part of a group you will probably decide to meet on a regular basis, for example monthly, and work through as much of a Room as you can between each meeting.
How do groups work within Foundations21?
Do I have to be part of a group?
No, you don't need to be in a group! But there are benefits of being in a group.
I don't belong to a local church at the moment. Does that matter?
No! We have always hoped that people who were on the edge of the church for whatever reason would value Foundations21 and what it has to offer. While you can do Foundations21 on your own,we do recommend that you are linked up with up other Christians and, ideally, a church. Fellowship with others, and being part of a Christian community, are both important aspects of discipleship and growing as Christians. We also think you'll gain a lot from sharing your Christian journey with others, although this doesn't have to happen on day one!
